Every day in the Île-de-France region, 9.4 million journeys are made. This is made possible by one of the largest public transport networks in the world. To facilitate these trips, the Île-de-France Mobilités network has launched Île-de-France Mobilités Connect. The announcement was made by email to the people of Île-de-France. But what will this really change for them? IDFM claims that it “doesn’t change anything for you… And yet it changes everything!” What is the point of this new account? What benefits will it offer? Zoom on this new feature…
A simple no-nonsense concept
The personal data of Ile-de-France transport users has been centralized. The aim is simple: to offer a single database and simplify the journey of internet users on the IDF Mobilités app. More specifically, Île-de-France Mobilités Connect has become the new single identifier for accessing all mobility services in Île-de-France. The idea is to group together all the user profiles with their personal data (name, address). This will make it possible to access these different services via a single mobility account.
How does it work? The current login details and the personal data required to create an account are used to initialize the Île-de-France Mobilité Connect account. Île-de-France Mobilités states: “there is nothing to do, the switchover to your new account will be automatic”. However, if a user refuses this migration of personal data, he or she must inform IDFM. In the next few weeks, IDFM will send a second email when the service is activated and the account created.
A single database
What will this do? Once the data transfer has been completed, users will have access to a new personal space. This will contain all the different mobility services. This single account will give access to subscription, purchase and top-up services. But also to carpooling reservations on partner applications such as Klaxit, Karos, Blablacar Daily… And finally, to search for itineraries in order to facilitate travel. All via a single account. Rather attractive, isn’t it? This novelty, we had already brought it up. A novelty that we had already introduced to you in our article on Mobility 2022 trends…
In addition, other services are also planned… Why not other mobility solutions such as bicycles, taxis or VTCs offered directly on the Île-de-France Mobilité Connect app? This single account will act as a one-stop shop for the various mobility services for Île-de-France residents. Better known as Mobility as a Service, this platform developed by Île-de-France Mobilité is set to change the way people in the Paris region travel. In the context of the opening up of transport to competition, user data is a real opportunity for mobility players.
