Two mobility leaders join forces to “improve safety and expand multimodality.” This is what we read in the recent press release of the micromobility provider TIER. Zoom on this new cooperation, which should eventually extend to other countries…
When safety rhymes with multimodality…
With the common ambition of “providing safe, accessible mobility that meets the individual needs of its users”, the Israeli ground transportation management platform Gett and the German micromobility service TIER Mobility have found a solution to achieve this.
Indeed, anyone who would consider borrowing a TIER scooter between 11pm and 3am will also be offered a cab ride. And this through a simple button “Book with Gett”, on the TIER application. A deep-link reservation that redirects the user to the Gett application.
We are proud of our innovative collaboration with TIER Mobility to encourage drivers to make safe and smart choices and look forward to more joint initiatives in the future.
Guy Gaash, VP Global Partnerships at Gett
A clever strategy to avoid excesses…
Through this collaboration, the two leaders hope to have found a real alternative. A trick to reduce the risks associated with accidents in scooters. Driving without helmet, driving in tandem, driving under alcohol, to name but a few… So many drifts, responsible today for the main evils cited by the communities…
By joining forces with Gett’s exceptional team and platform, we’re helping to ensure riders have access to the mode of transport that best suits their daily needs, while cutting drink-riding, tandem-riding and other unsafe behaviours. This is just the start of an exciting tie-up that will benefit cities, riders and the wider public.

As an indication, according to research conducted by TIER, “lack of awareness of the legal requirements is one of the main drivers for people riding without helmets, tandem-riding, and drink-riding”. A finding that led the micro-mobility provider to insist on reminding people of these conditions of use for its services. To date, the service is only offered in the Tel Aviv area. However, it is already announced that other joint actions will be launched in the coming months…
