On the agenda: the makeover of the RATP app, opening the way to a MaaS application. 7 new train lines in the Train + Air offer from Air France and SNCF. And finally, a new feature in the Moovit app that will delight public transport users.
RATP on its way to a MaaS application
On June 15, users of the RATP application discovered a brand new mobile application. Renamed “Bonjour RATP“, the application has also been given a new visual identity. “Simple travel like Bonjour” is the new line that accompanies RATP’s desire to move to MaaS. This move, foreshadowed by the acquisition of Mappy, is also reinforced by the integration of various mobility operators. Marcel for VTCs, TIER for electric scooters and Velib for self-service bikes. This new update will make nearly 150,000 points of interest accessible, thanks to Mappy’s technology.

Away from the crowd with Moovit
This month, Moovit integrated a new feature that allows public transportation users to know the flow of passengers. This feature is entirely based on the collaboration of Moovit users. As we know, it is difficult to return to normal use of public transportation since the Covid-19 pandemic. Many people are afraid of crowds. That’s why Moovit added this feature, just like Google did last year.
Moovit said that most transit operators do not provide real-time information on this influx of passengers, mainly because of the lack of crowd counters at stations or onboard fleets. With this participatory feature, information shared by passengers can be seen for 10 minutes. Other users can confirm whether this information is true, in order to provide the best information in real-time. This feature only works if users contribute to it. It is already available in nearly 3,400 cities in France across 112 countries.
The Train + Air formula (SNCF and Air France) reinforced by the arrival of 7 new lines
In order to ensure end-to-end travel, Air France and SNCF have been offering for many years now, formulas allowing to combine land and air transport. Air France was quick to understand the challenges facing airlines in offering new mobility services. Thanks to this Train + Air package, users only have to make one reservation for both types of transport and benefit from advantages such as the guarantee of no additional costs in the case of delays.
Now numbering 18, the new stations included in the Air + Train offer are :
- Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Aix-en-Provence TGV, Bordeaux Saint-Jean, Marseille Saint-Charles and Montpellier Saint-Roch,
- Paris-Orly (via Massy TGV station) and Valence TGV, Avignon TGV, Marseille Saint-Charles
In addition, a digital experiment has been launched on the CDG and/or Massy TGV – Lille line and on the CDG and/or Massy TGV – Strasbourg line. This experiment will provide passengers with a fully online customer experience, enabling them to check in on the Air France website and collect their ticket at the station on the day of departure. If the tests are successful, this digital service will be deployed on the entire offer by 2022.
